Double delight

The day after Thanksgiving, the Lord blessed our family

with a second granddaughter — Leah Mikayla. We call her the Diva, since she chose to be born when all the cousins were in town and could make a grand entrance!

What a delight! Nathan and Tara are the proud parents.

After those first 6 weeks of sleep deprivation and adjustment and illness, life is getting to some kind of normal.

Poet is a bit mystified by his little cousin, but he is certainly intrigued. She’s definitely a little doll baby!

Shalom — blessings in the new year to one and all.

Rob and I have a new grandson — Poet Kadin — son of Don and Michelle. We rejoice that he is a sweet, healthy little guy — 6 lb, 11 oz at birth. Children are such an amazing gift of the Lord!

It was finals week at WMU the week after Poet’s birth, so Michelle and Don were both scrambling to adjust quickly in the midst of sleep deprivation to exam schedules! Yikes! They’re making progress

It’s been years and years since we had a dog - and not a good experience, but now our cup overflows, so to speak. Allie - the bigger dog - belongs to Nate and Tara and has been a model of sweetness. She was/is our inspiration for finding a dog of our own, so now Rudy is a part of the family. He is 5 years old (approximately), comes from the Ann Arbor area, and is a cuddler. The wierdest part is how little he is. I keep thinking he’s one of the cats.

English Class T-Day 2005

November 20, 2005 — Pre-Thanksgiving Day

Rob and I look forward to this time each year — a great way to count our blessings before the actual holiday! And one of our blessings is to have the opportunity to introduce students to a traditional American Thanksgiving gathering.

Along with some history of the holiday and the annual “signing of the tablecloth,” we had music, turkey and all the trimmings, and even a touch of rubber stamping.

Thanks to the students in the Conversational English Class who are eager learners, and just plain fine folks!
